Ariana Madix continued her post-breakup travels with a notable stop in Washington, D.C.

Fresh off her Coachella and U.K. excursions, the Vanderpump Rules cast member headed to the nation’s capital for the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner — the annual hot-ticket event in which celebrities and media figures mingle with top government officials. As with most star-studded gatherings, the WHCAD has resulted in many memorable fashion moments, which is why fans were eager to see how Ariana would approach the black-tie dress code.

Well, to absolutely no one’s surprise, she didn’t disappoint.

The cocktail book author stepped onto the WHCAD red carpet looking equal parts stunning and angelic. She opted for a strapless champagne dress that featured double-stitch ruffles and shimmering sequin details throughout. Ariana complemented the romantic design — from British womenswear brand Needle & Thread — with delicate silver jewelry and a sheer tulle cape with frills around the collar.

Her hair and makeup were done by Kat Joyner, owner of the Maryland-based studio Art Aesthetic.

The WHCAD is a century-old celebration of journalistic excellence. In addition to honoring reporters for their work and awarding scholarships to students, the event also includes a speech by the United States president, who typically uses the dinner to flex his comedic muscle.

Ariana attended the D.C. gala alongside her Vanderpump Rules castmate Lisa Vanderpump, who is also an executive producer of the series. The two were invited as guests of DailyMail.com.

“I watch the dinner on TV every year and have always dreamed of being there in person,” Ariana told DailyMail.com ahead of the dinner. “My wonderful late grandmother was very active in local politics and I’ve always dreamed of visiting the White House, so this is an incredible honor.”

Vanderpump RulesLala Kent also attended the 2023 WHCAD as a guest of the Los Angeles Times. On the eve of the dinner, she and Ariana accompanied each other to the Creative Arts Agency’s WHCD Kickoff Party at The Henri. Ariana showed up in a gold silk ruched-shoulder dress by Anthropologie, while Lala rocked a light blue twisted satin dress by Alex Perry.

Lala posted an Instagram video of herself and Ariana making their way to the kickoff event, where they also took photos with stars including Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romjin. The clip began with the two sitting in the backseat of a car as Lala referred to her castmate as a “star.”

“That’s Madame President to you,” Ariana playfully said, to which Lala responded, “And I’m the first lady.”
