An Online Niche

You never know what you're going to find in the various corners of the internet, or eve just of TikTok. One TikTok performer, Paige Niemann, has built up a huge following -- 1.7 million followers, 11.7 million likes -- by cosplaying as Ariana Grande and acting out her bits, particularly ones from the show Victorious. One particular clip went viral on Twitter as well (the sign that a TikTok is truly popular), with a Grande stan account tweeting "I just know Ariana is terrified...."

Grande Responds

Celebrities surely deal with more weird sh*t in a week than the average person does in a lifetime, so Grande takes the fact that there is a girl who looks just like her acting out her old show on TikTok in stride. She acknowledges the weirdness in a tweet, while also making sure the girl knows that she's not mad.

"i just wonder whyyyy the cat voice / dialogue. 😭 i am sure she is the sweetest sweet sweetheart forreal !! but it’s definitley bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds lmao."

A Long Time Hobby

Cosmopolitan asked Niemann what she thought of Grande's response to the clip, and she admitted that she was shocked that Grande saw it.

"I was excited but nervous to see what she had to say because I only want her to appreciate how much her fans adore her."

"I was about 12 [when I started doing my face like Ariana]. It’s taken a lot of practice over the past couple of years. I’ve watched many tutorials and come up with my own techniques with hair and makeup. I have evolved and really enjoy it."

A Good Time For Grande

Odd doppelgänger situation aside, it's a great time to be Grande. She was nominated for 5 Grammys -- Best Pop Solo Performance, Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance -- and posted a heartfelt Instagram celebrating the accomplishment.

"Hello I had to share this here as well I’m sorry. Thank u for acknowledging this music my beautiful best friends and I created in just a few weeks together. The acknowledgement is truly more than enough on its own for me and my heart. Thank u. Pls allow me to bring literally all of my friends who worked on it to sit around me so they can make sure my heart is still beaking lmao. So much love and gratitude. Also also !!!! I have to say congratulations to all my other friends that have been nominated this year for their brilliant work as well! I can’t wait to celebrate everyone together."
