Ariana Grande is saying goodbye to her somewhat short-lived marriage to Dalton Gomez.

After being secretly separated for months, the "Positions" singer has finally pulled the plug and filed for divorce after almost four years together.

In legal court documents obtained by The Blast, the "7 Rings" songstress took the plunge to file first, with her lawyer  Laura Wasser citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Grande filed first at Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles before Gomez filed his response shortly after.

Wasser is a known name in the Holly divorce attorney industry. She is currently handling Kevin Costner's contentious divorce from estranged wife Christine Baumgartner. She also handled Kim Kardashian's divorce from Kanye West.

As mentioned above, the docs are void of child support or custody issues, given that they welcomed no child. The separation date is listed as February 20, 2023, almost three months before speculations surfaced that the lovebirds were going their separate ways. Meaning Grande and Gomez were able to keep their separation under the lid for a while.

Before their union, both Grande and Gomez were successful in their own right, having a lot of wealth and assets to their names. Hence, it is no surprise that the pair have an ironclad prenuptial agreement. Prior to their  May 2021 nuptials, the "Sam & Cat" alum was worth about $150 million and was one of the highest-earning entertainers in the world.

As of 2023, the two-time Grammy Award winner's net worth has skyrocketed to a whopping $240 million. As for her low-key luxury real estate ex-husband, he is estimated to have a net worth of around $20 million.

While both parties are millionaires, it is obvious Grande has a lot to lose if their prenup doesn't protect the almost $100 million she earned in the course of their marriage. Also, because the R.E.M Beauty founder has more money, it is not unlikely that she might have to fork up some cash for her ex-husband despite their ironclad prenuptial agreement.

It is also possible that trying to iron out the details of an amicable split was the reason filing for divorce took almost EIGHT months! Fans may recall that after getting engaged in December 2020 — just months after they went Instagram official — the former lovebirds exchanged their vows.

The pair walked down the aisle in a super private ceremony held at the singer's Montecito home. If that name sounds familiar, it is because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the high-end area their home after stepping down from the British Royal family.

They had about 20 guests in the Tudor-style home, which the "Positions" singer purchased for $6.8 million in 2020 from Ellen De Generes and Portia de Rossi. However, in September 2022, she sold the property for $9.1 million. Perhaps that was the start of her and Gomez's marital woes.

Before her marriage to the successful real estate mogul, Grande had begun building her real estate portfolio. In 2018, she dropped $16 million on a swanky Chelsea apartment in New York City. The 4,000 square feet property boasted five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms with impressive features like an IMAX theater, a sauna, a private spa, and a pool.

During the 2020 pandemic, she purchased a 10,000 square-feet brand-new Hollywood Hills home for $13.7 million before selling it for $14 million in late 2021. Amid her marriage, Grande bought two lavish properties —  an $8.9 million cottage in the Bird Streets neighborhood of L.A.’s Hollywood Hills and a $4.9 million two-bedroom Hollywood Hills home that previously belonged to actress Cameron Diaz.

It is unsure how these properties would be split during the divorce settlement, but the former lovebirds are determined to make the process friendly and free of drama.

Grande & Gomez Mutually Chose To Separate

News of the couple's separation broke in July. According to a source close to the pair, Grande and Gomez had been faced with severe troubles since the beginning of the year that they were not able to overcome.

"They came to the decision together," the insider said of the duo’s separation. "They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends."

The source explained that the pair's split wasn't without efforts of reconciliation. The Florida native who has been away in the United Kingdom filming for her role as Glinda in the upcoming "Wicked" movie received her husband on set in London as part of reconciliation efforts. However, it all proved futile.

Nevertheless, Grande and Gomez are individually in good places with the support of their family and friends. "They’ve been really good friends throughout the entire process, and their friends and families have been trying to protect them," the insider revealed to Page Six.

Another insider told Daily Mail, "Ariana and Dalton have nothing but respect for one another. They're still friends and want to remain that way moving forward. There was no cheating, no resentment between them, the marriage just simply didn't work out. These things happen."

A day before the revelation of their separation, the Nickelodeon alum attended the Wimbledon Men's final without her wedding ring. Months prior to their split, Grande marked their second wedding anniversary on Instagram in a since-deleted tribute.
