Ariana Grande Proves She’s the ‘HallowQueen’ With *Insane* Sea Creature Costume (Photos)

There may be no “official” Halloween costume contest among celebrities, but if there was one, Ariana Grande probably just won it. This year, the pop star fully transformed herself into “Miss Creature from the Black Lagoon” — and fans absolutely lost it.

Grande even went so far as to craft an old school movie poster for her monster self, billing it as “Amazing! Startling! Shocking!” The prosthetic makeup, the costume, the art direction — talk about spot-on perfection. She made sure to credit the artists who helped her bring the look together, and of course, gave a shoutout to her husband Dalton Gomez, who stars in one of the photos as “Handsome Scuba Man.”

Fans went crazy for the look, with one making the bold but confident claim: “Mariah is queen of Christmas while Ariana is the queen of Halloween.”

Surprisingly, there weren’t a ton of “Shape of Water” jokes (but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any). Most just applauded the singer for handling Halloween with such gusto.

Then again, some fans took the opportunity to highlight past costumes from the pop star, noting that she’s pretty reliable when it comes to committing to the holiday. Or, as one of them put it, “ariana grande always understood the halloween assignment.”

Over on Instagram, Grande and her husband did get the stamp of approval from her mother. “This IS THE GREATEST Halloween costume and pairing and couple!!!!!! WOW!!!!!” Joan Grande said in the comments section.
