After 2023 gave us so many pop culture moments and critically acclaimed pop anthems, it's time to say "Thank you, next!"

Ariana Grande is making her return to music in 2024, with the star confirming a new album on Wednesday morning in a series of social media photos.

Following the carefully curated photos and videos on her Instagram carousel, fans took to social media to express their excitement for the upcoming project. This will be the Boca Raton, Florida native's seventh studio album and first since 2020’s “Positions.”

According to AP, the announcement arrives a few weeks after news broke that Grande signed to Good World Management firm, following her split with long-term manager Scooter Braun. They also noted that this will be her first album since her marriage and subsequent separation from real estate agent Dalton Gomez.

How did Ariana Grande announce her new album for 2024?

The Grammy winner took to Instagram to make the announcement, sharing photos and clips of her in the studio. Some of the memories she shared include a pile of polaroids, a video of Grande’s mother dancing, a shot of her next to soundboards and a note that says "see you next year" with her lipstick next to it.

“See you next year,” she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, which included a video where someone off screen says it is “almost the last day of this album.” Grande responds, “I’m so tired, but so happy and grateful. I also feel like I weigh 3,000 tons.”

Grande also shared a screenshot captured from FaceTime with the text, “The two moods of the album.”

Did Ariana Grande tease her album earlier this month?

Social media came to a screeching halt on Thursday, Dec. 7 when the songstress posted seven photos of her Instagram, completely waking up her fanbase.

These seven photos (and two videos without sound) showcased Grande in the studio, seemingly working on some new tracks. Fellow singer Victoria Monet seemingly confirmed the new album, commenting "she's back."

"Love you sweetheart, no one is ready," her "Wicked" costar Cynthia Erivo commented as well, adding a heart at the end. "I'm so freaking proud of you! This project is so freaking special."

Within an hour of Grande posting the photos, they received over a million likes. Fans also jumped to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their excitement. "#AG7" and "Ariana Grande" saw over 50,000 posts underneath each tag over the span of an hour.

Grande stopped in Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville while on 2019's "the Sweetener World Tour", which was her fourth concert tour and third arena tour.

What has Ariana Grande been doing since the release of 'Positions' in 2020?

Why are fans so eager for Grande's return to music? Well, she's been busy dabbling in other industries over the past three years.

Back in 2021, Grande founded r.e.m. beauty, which is a line of retro-inspired eye, face, and lip makeup products. With products that are vegan-friendly and packaged in recyclable materials, Grande’s vision was to create a brand that encouraged creativity and self-expression.

The name comes from Grande's song of her 2018 "Sweetener" album, serving as the inspiration for the brand's name. Brand officials also claim the name is an apparent reference to Rapid Eye Movement sleep, a period of rest when vivid dreams happen.

Earlier this year, Grande purchased r.e.m. beauty's assets from Forma for an estimated $15 million, hiring Murad and Smashbox veteran Michelle Shigemasa as their new CEO.

In addition to dominating the beauty space, the Floridian made her return to acting by joining the cast of "Wicked." Directed by Jon M. Chu, Grande will take on the popular role of "Glinda, the Good Witch."

According to USA TODAY, the first part of the "Wicked" duology – a prequel to "The Wizard of Oz" and adaptation of the Broadway show, now filming in the United Kingdom – hits theaters Thanksgiving 2024, and the concluding chapter arrives Christmas 2025.
