Ariana Grande is in the throes of a divorce from Dalton Gomez and a new romance with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, but now, she has to deal with a major career issue. It seems her fans are going a little crazy and releasing her unpublished music without her permission — and she’s had enough.

In August, a song nicknamed “Fantasize” by her fans, turned up on Spotify with the title, “But just before I go, there’s something you should know.” The artist credited had a curious moniker —  “Adriana Venti” — a cute spoof of her real name. The song was so popular that it made its way up the charts to the Philippines’ Spotify Daily Top Songs list with over 70,000 streams, according to Pop Crave.

Well, Grande was less than pleased because this single was never supposed to see the light of day until it was polished, and she let her fans know in a now-deleted TikTok video. “Wrote this for a comedy sketch about a girl group. This was the demo I made for them. Please stop spreading leaks. I appreciate it,” she wrote in a comment under the clip, per Unilad. She added in another comment, “This is so disheartening. I was going to come back to this hook and use eventually. I don’t know how people are still doing this but please stop.”

Grande did get some justice as the offender, who uploaded the song to Spotify, found themselves on the receiving end of a huge $10,000 fine. The fan explained their legal situation on X (formerly Twitter), “Hello. As you all know I went to court yesterday. It did not go very well, they pulled up my tweets… the money I made from the songs… and other information… but as they say, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Well, I have to pay (sic) them $10K and have to serve 48+ hours of [community service].” This Grande fan learned a very hard and expensive lesson!
