Ariana DeBose sure feels pretty tonight.

The 31-year-old actress danced her way into an Oscar win Sunday night for best supporting actress for her role as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake.

“Now you see why Anita says ‘I want to be in America,” DeBose said during her acceptance speech. “Even in this weary world that we live in, dreams do come true.”

DeBose beat out Jessie Buckley for “The Lost Daughter,” Judi Dench for “Belfast,” Kirsten Dunst for “The Power of the Dog” and Aunjanue Ellis for “King Richard.”

With her win, the “So You Think You Can Dance” alum finds herself following in the footsteps of Rita Moreno, who originated the role of Anita on screen in 1961. Moreno also won the Oscar for best supporting actress on her way to securing an EGOT.

Only two pairs of actors have won Oscars for playing the same character: Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro as Vito Corleone in “The Godfather” and “The Godfather Part II,” and Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker in “The Dark Knight” and “Joker.”

Moreno was in the audience for DeBose’s win, cheering on her successor.

DeBose also becomes the first openly queer woman of color to win an Oscar in an acting category.

“To anybody who has ever questioned your identity or you find yourself living in the gray spaces... I promise you this: there is indeed a place for us,” she said.
