Arian Moayed, Este Haim, Lionel Boyce, Ziwe & More Join Elisabeth Moss, Kate Hudson & Kaia Gerber In Max Minghella’s Thriller ‘Shell’

EXCLUSIVE: SAG and Tony Award nominee Arian Moayed (Succession), Grammy-nominated musician and composer Este Haim (Licorice Pizza), actor-writer Lionel Boyce (The Bear), and actor-comedian Ziwe (ZIWE) are among cast to have joined Elisabeth Moss, Kate Hudson, and Kaia Gerber in psychological thriller Shell.

Filming recently wrapped in Los Angeles on the movie which marks the sophomore directorial effort from The Handmaid’s Tale and The Social Network star Max Minghella.

Cast is rounded out by SAG-award nominee Amy Landecker (Transparent), Emmy winner Peter MacNicol (Ally McBeal), Blake Lee (Cruel Summer), Dustin Milligan (Schitt’s Creek), Peri Gilpin (Frasier), and Mary Lynn Rajskub (24).

In Shell, struggling actress Samantha (Moss) is given an opportunity to get a free trial at Shell, a pioneering health and beauty company which promises to keep its clients looking young forever. Samantha’s life and career is transformed by the treatment, and she develops a burgeoning friendship with Shell’s CEO, the ultra-glamorous Zoe Shannon (Hudson). When a string of former Shell patients go missing under mysterious circumstances, including popular rising star Chloe Benson (Gerber), Samantha starts to fear she may be in danger herself.

Dark Castle is financing Shell, which is produced by Range’s Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Minghella for Blank Tape, Elisabeth Moss and Lindsey McManus for Love & Squalor Pictures, Hal Sadoff and Norman Golightly for Dark Castle, and Alicia Van Couvering.

Jamie Bell and Jack Stanley will executive produce. Black Bear is representing the international rights and will be distributing directly in the UK and Ireland. CAA Media Finance and WME Independent are co-repping the domestic rights with sales to continue at the upcoming EFM.

Moayed is represented by UTA and Kipperman Management. Haim is represented by CAA and Fortress Talent Management. Boyce is represented by WME Entertainment and Range Media Partners. Ziwe is represented by UTA and Ocean Avenue.
