Ari Lennox goes off after concertgoer throws bottle on stage: 'I don't play that'

The "Pressure" singer is the latest performer to have an object hurled at her mid-show.

Ari Lennox refuses to be the next victim of a dangerous concert trend that has seen singers being hit by random objects on stage.

On Wednesday night, the "Pressure" singer was opening for Rod Wave at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., when a bottle hurled at the stage narrowly missed her. Lennox, who had just begun singing the opening notes of her hit song, abruptly stopped to investigate, whirling around to address a section of the crowd.

"Bitch, don't f---ing play with me. Stop that s---, I'll f--- you up," she said, according to fan-recorded video circulating on social media. "Who did it? Who the f--- did it? I don't play that s---. I'm a real-ass bitch, and I will f--- your s--- all the way the f--- up.”

She added, "Don't you ever disrespect a beautiful Black woman on the f---ing stage like that."

Another video sees someone from the audience appearing to take credit for the bottle, after which Lennox addresses them directly, with the crowd cheering her on. "Come here, let's do it," she says in the video, before unleashing a string of insults.

Lennox's mic was then cut, and she was escorted off stage by her security guard.

Representatives for Lennox didn't immediately respond to EW's request for comment Thursday.

Throwing objects on stage during live music events has become a disturbingly popular trend over the past year, with several artists calling out concertgoers for putting them and crew members at risk.

In June, Bebe Rexha needed stitches after being hit in the face by a thrown phone. The culprit was eventually arrested and charged with assault. Kelsea Ballerini, Harry Styles, and Adele have dealt with similar close calls.

"Have you noticed how people are like, forgetting f---ing show etiquette at the moment? People just throwing s--- on stage, have you seen them?" Adele said in July at her Las Vegas residency. Armed with T-shirt cannon, the "Skyfall" singer then jokingly threatened the audience: "I f---ing dare you. Dare you to throw something at me and I'll f---ing kill you."

Even Taylor Swift gently scolded fans at her Buenos Aires Eras Tour stop, asking them not to toss things at the stage — no matter how badly they want to give her gifts.

"It really freaks me out when stuff gets thrown on the stage," Swift told the crowd. "Because if it's on the stage then a dancer can trip on it. I love that you brought presents and that is so nice, but just can you please not throw them on the stage. I love you so much."
