Aretha Franklin’s Amazing Kennedy Center Honors Performance Wows, Brings Obama to Tears

Carole King was among those being celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors, which aired on CBS Monday evening. King, of course, is the talented songwriter behind many hits, including “(You Make Me Feel Like a Natural) Woman.” The woman most famous for singing that song is Aretha Franklin. The legendary diva came onstage and thrilled the audience with her rendition. Audience members sang along and were enraptured — including President Barack Obama, who was caught on camera wiping away a tear.

At the end of the song, which brought down the house, Aretha, 73, received a standing ovation.
