Aretha Franklin Public Viewing Announced

The Queen of Soul will be honored at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit

On August 16, Aretha Franklin died at the age of 76 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial has now been announced. The public viewing will take place on August 28 and 29 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in her hometown of Detroit, spanning from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days. Her funeral, limited to friends and family, will take place on August 31.

Following her death, Franklin was remembered by countless admirers, including Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, Barack and Michelle Obama, and many more.
