Area Happenings: Contra Dance in Shreve, 'Maltilda Jr.', symphony concert

Contra Dance, 7 p.m. Saturday, 2411 Shreve Road, Wooster. Instruction included. It's aerobic and social; no partner necessary. Recommended for all ages. Kroc Kids Presents"Matilda Jr." at The Ashland Theatre: Come watch the story of Matilda, who has wit, intelligence and special powers. Unloved by her cruel parents, she impresses her teacher, Ms. Honey, while trying to save her school from the dreaded headmistress, Ms. Trunchbull. The first show will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, with additional performances at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, and 3 p.m. Sunday Jan. 14.
