Contra Dance, 7 p.m. Saturday, 2411 Shreve Road, Wooster. Instruction included. It's aerobic and social; no partner necessary. Recommended for all ages. Celtic music with Pocketful o' Gimmick, calling by Susan English. Suggested donations are $7 adults, $5 students. Carry clean shoes and personal water bottle. Kroc Kids Presents"Matilda Jr." at The Ashland Theatre: Come watch the story of Matilda, who has wit, intelligence and special powers. Unloved by her cruel parents, she impresses her teacher, Ms. Honey, while trying to save her school from the dreaded headmistress, Ms. Trunchbull. The first show will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, with additional performances at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, and 3 p.m. Sunday Jan. 14.
