Arden Rose, Erica Dasher Star in ‘Guidance’ Season 2 on Verizon Go90

Verizon keeps buying more teen-skewing fare for Go90 — meaning it either has found an audience engaged in the scripted originals, or is crossing fingers that one eventually materializes.

Season 2 of high-school drama “Guidance” from AwesomenessTV will premiere Nov. 14 on Go90 with an all-new cast, headlined by YouTube star Arden Rose (Go90’s “Mr. Student Body President”) and Erica Dasher (“Jane by Design”).

In the second season, Rose plays an over-achiever at Capitol High who discovers that her perfect GPA is suffering, causing her to accuse the school’s most beloved teacher of favoritism. The new guidance counselor (Dasher) launches an investigation — which unearths years of school secrets.

The cast of “Guidance” season 2 also includes Chachi Gonzales (winner of “America’s Best Dance Crew”), David Gridley (“The Duff”), YouTube musician Ben J. Pierce, Leah Lewis (“Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything”), Diamond White (“Boo! A Madea Halloween”), Keean Johnson (“Nashville”), along with Ryan Rottman (“Billionaire Boys Club”), Eric Allan Kramer (“Good Luck Charlie”), Alisha Marie, Molly McCook (“The Ranch”), Ramon De Ocampo (“12 Monkeys”) and Jessie Paege (Fullscreen’s “Girls’ Night In” tour).

“Guidance” season 2 is directed by Julian Higgins and Maggie Kiley and executive produced by Brian Robbins, Shauna Phelan and SJ Hodges.

Verizon has stocked Go90 will some 250 hours of exclusive original series, but it hasn’t revealed any user performance data for the millennial-pitched, mobile-first video service.

Whatever the viewership traction has been to date, the telco continues to ink deals for more content. Recent pickups include “Embeds,” a political comedy about reporters on the campaign trail with Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly attached as producer, and comedy docu-series “Top Grier” in which social-media star Hayes Grier attempts to run a farm. Verizon also has renewed talk-show series “Tawk” with Awkwafina for seasons 4 and 5.

AwesomenessTV is a majority owned by Comcast (after its acquisition of DreamWorks Animation) with minority stakes held by Hearst and Verizon.
