Arctic Monkeys’ New Album Is UK’s Fastest-Selling Vinyl LP of the Last 25 Years

Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino sold 24,500 vinyl copies in its first week

Last week, Arctic Monkeys released their sixth album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. Like their previous five records, it has now reached No. 1 on the UK charts, according to the Official Charts Company. In addition, it’s broken a chart record: With 24,500 vinyl copies sold, it is the fastest-selling vinyl LP of the past 25 years. (The record was previously held by Liam Gallagher’s As You Were, which sold 16,000 in its first week.)

Arctic Monkeys will tour behind TBH&C through 2018. They recently shared a surreal new video for “Four Out of Five.”
