From the archives: Photographer captures long look at downtown

Dec. 24—From the Times-Call photo archive via Longmont Museum: "Longmont at night, with a minimum of holiday lighting, is depicted in the photograph taken from the roof of a downtown building. Daily Times-Call photographer Dave Jennings used a 105-millimeter lens on a Nikon camera mounted on a tripod with a full minute's exposure. The lights in the street were traced by the headlights of passing automobiles. The long exposure gave the city's streetlights the look of stars." Originally published Dec. 14, 1973.
