The episode starts with Nephy being approached by Lady Chastille, the maiden of the holy sword. Nephy misunderstands the situation, thinking Chastille is there to execute her for being an associate of Zagan. Manuela interferes and scolds Chastille, causing the townspeople to gather and do the same before Nephy clears it up.

Later, the three women head to the bar to talk. Nephy explains that Zagan kicked her out and asks Chastille what archdemons are. Chastille tells her the archdemons are the sworn enemies of the church. She also mentions the church will do all it can to eliminate a new archdemon before they get used to their power. However, their conversation is interrupted by a sorcerer claiming to be Zagan, who teleports everyone away.

Elsewhere, Zagan deals with some knights who barge into his territory and trigger a trap. Manuela arrives and explains the situation to him. She tells him that Nephy is planning to come back to him. Zagan then goes to rescue her, telling Manuela that Nephy is his.

Meanwhile, Nephy and Chastile are held prisoner by Barbatos, who has been impersonating Zagan. He reveals his jealousy for Zagan as someone who has always taken his place. After hearing that Zagan has become an archdemon, he decides to sacrifice Nephy and Chastille. However, his plans are interrupted by Zagan, who breaks into the prison.
