In honor of the 15th anniversary of their classic debut, Funeral, Arcade Fire have shared a remastered video for the anthemic single “Rebellion (Lies)”.

A blurrier version of the “Rebellion (Lies)” clip has been floating around the Internet since at least 2009, racking up over 13 million views on YouTube. In an interview with NME, frontman and recent Canadian citizen Win Butler explained why the band felt this remaster was necessary:

“The ‘Rebellion’ video is the first video we made as a band, filmed in the months before the release of Funeral. Our friend Josh Deu, who used to play in Arcade Fire, did the visual effects on the video. Somehow along the way the wrong version got uploaded and the official video only existed in a degraded form. We are happy that he was able to redo the hand-drawn effects for this restoration. Enjoy the band as the babies we were!”

In addition to better quality, the most noticeable changes are the hand-drawn touches. Deu’s artwork transforms the video, charging the visuals with a child’s imaginative powers. Watch the new and improved clip below.

Additionally, the Canadian rockers are set to unearth behind-the-scenes footage, journal entries, flyers, and previously unseen photos from the making of Funeral. There will also be a full photo shoot by famed Dutch photographer and U2/Depeche Mode collaborator Anton Corbijn, as well as rare live performance videos. Those goodies are set to drop digitally on the album’s official anniversary this Saturday, September 14th.
