The Romanian-American actor Sebastian Stan has enthralled the audience by essaying roles such as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his outing as Tommy Lee in the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy. Now, he is all set to portray Donald Trump in an upcoming movie about the real-estate mogul and former US president — suitably titled The Apprentice. Wondering when the film is coming out? We got you covered.

Here’s all The Apprentice release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.

Is there The Apprentice release date?

The Apprentice could arrive by 2025 at the earliest. ComingSoon will provide an update when the release date is officially announced.

The first reports about the film came out in 2018 when author Gabriel Sherman joined the project as the screenwriter. It was announced in October 2023 that acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Ali Abbasi, known for helming the crime thriller film Holy Spider and two episodes of HBO’s The Last of Us, had also joined the project as co-writer and director. News about Stan’s involvement broke in late November 2023, about the same time when the production began.

The upcoming film is reportedly set in the ’70s and ’80s and focuses on a younger version of Trump as he builds his real-estate empire. The film will also delve into the mentor-protégé relationship between Trump and the controversial lawyer and prosecutor, Roy Cohn. The title appears to be a double entendre, underscoring this relationship as well as Trump’s future tenure on the reality show of the same name.

Besides Stan, the film reportedly will star Jeremy Strong and Maria Bakalova as Cohn and Ivana Trump (Trump’s first wife), respectively. The production companies behind the project are Scythia Films, Profile Pictures, and Taylored Films. Given that The Apprentice is already filming, it can be speculated that the film can come out in 2025 at the earliest.

This date is an estimation based on the information we have at the time of this writing.
