Based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel of the same name, “Apples Never Fall” is the latest adaptation of Moriarty’s work, coming after “Big Little Lies” and “Nine Perfect Strangers.”

The official synopsis for “Apples Never Fall” reads: Former tennis coaches Stan (Sam Neill) and Joy (Annette Bening) Delaney have sold their successful tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives. While they look forward to spending time with their four adult children (Jake Lacy, Alison Brie, Conor Merrigan-Turner, Essie Randles), everything changes when a wounded young woman knocks on Joy and Stan’s door, bringing the excitement they’ve been missing. But when Joy suddenly disappears, her children are forced to re-examine their parents’ so-called perfect marriage as their family’s darkest secrets begin to surface.

The cast is rounded out by Georgia Flood, Jeanine Serralles, Dylan Thuraisingham, Katrina Lenk, Timm Sharp, Nate Mann, Paula Andrea Placido, Pooja Shah, and Quentin Plair.

“The OA” and “The Affair” alum Melanie Marnich serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, with lead star Bening, author Moriarty, David Heyman, Gregory Jacobs, Joe Hortua, Albert Page, and Jillian Share also executive producing. The seven-episode limited series is directed by Chris Sweeney, who additionally executive produces, and Dawn Shadforth.

The series is produced by Heyday Television, which is part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.

In addition to “Apples Never Fall,” more Moriarty adaptations are on the way. “Big Little Lies” and “Nine Perfect Strangers” actress/producer Nicole Kidman is set to star in and produce the adaptation of Moriarty’s “The Last Anniversary.” Meanwhile, Heather Graham will produce TV series “The Hypnotist’s Love Story,” also penned by Moriarty.

Rumblings of a third season of “Big Little Lies” have also been floating around, with Kidman telling Variety that she and co-star Reese Witherspoon are “texting every day” about the HBO show. “We’re at work on it,” Kidman said, adding, “And there’s a timeline and we’re doing it. We can’t say anything more. We’ve got to start keeping our mouths shut… We’ve got to button it.”

“Apples Never Fall” premieres March 14 on Peacock. Check out the trailer below and click here for all the details on the upcoming series.
