Apparently Kourtney Kardashian Drinks Her Own Breast Milk & We Have So Many Questions

Breastmilk isn’t called “liquid gold” for nothing! In addition to providing tons of nutritional benefits to babies, moms have also used it to clear up their baby’s skin, help with ear infections, and treat diaper rash. But Kourtney Kardashian takes this love of breastmilk one step further — and actually drinks it herself.

On Wednesday night, the Lemme founder shared a new photo on her Instagram story. She’s wearing a black robe and lying in bed giving the camera a thumbs up. “This filter is crazy,” Kardashian wrote about the picture, adding, “and I just pounded a glass of breast milk because I feel sick 🤧goodnight!” (Us Weekly has a screenshot of the picture HERE.)

For a woman who served her family a fake placenta for dinner on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, it shouldn’t surprise us that Kourt drinks her own breastmilk. But … why? Does this help clear up a runny nose? How much does she drink? Does she hold her nose to chug it, or does it actually taste good? Does her 5-month-old baby Rocky then drink recycled breast milk the next time she feeds him?!

We can answer at least one question. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, breast milk contains antibodies, proteins, fats, sugars, and white blood cells that fight infection. So if it works for your baby, then it makes sense that Kardashian would use it to help boost her own immune system (although, there are vitamins and supplements you could take instead).

The Kardashians star shares Rocky with husband Travis Barker and is also mom to Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9, with ex Scott Disick. Last month, she revealed that she is “sorta obsessed with the manual” breast pump. She also shared an intimate photo of herself using the breast pump.

Recently, Kardashian kept it real about another part of postpartum life: embracing your post-baby body. “Dear new mommies,” she wrote on her Instagram story last week. “Your body is beautiful at all stages. During pregnancy as we are glowing and growing, postpartum as we are healing and shrinking, and then that period I find the hardest as our bodies are still adjusting. And if you’re breastfeeding, that’s a whole other part of it.”

She added, “I try to be kind to myself as my body finds a new normal. The pressure put on us to bounce back when everything is new and different isn’t realistic. Life is beautiful, you are beautiful. Just a little reminder (for me too;) XOXO.”

Kardashian has such a positive outlook on health that we admire — even if we wouldn’t necessarily do everything she does.

Feeding little ones isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey, and these celebrity moms are advocating for extended breastfeeding.
