'Saturday Night Live' shows a world without President Trump, who calls skits 'real scandal'

Have you ever wondered: What would things be like if Donald Trump hadn't won the election?

That's the alternate reality "Saturday Night Live" presents in a sketch starring Alec Baldwin's President Trump at the center of an "It's a Wonderful Life" style opening sketch.

In the black-and-white bit, Trump complains, "I don't think I can do this anymore. ... Sometimes I wish I were never president." Cue an angel (Kenan Thompson), who lets Trump go to a Christmas party where he's no longer commander in chief. He sees members of his cabinet, in their alternate, happier paths.

The depiction did not sit well with the president, who dubbed "SNL" and NBC "Democrat spin machines" on Twitter, and suggested that the show's Trump parodies should be tested in court.

Here's how everyone fared in this world where Hillary Clinton won the presidency:

► White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders (Aidy Bryant) is a spokeswoman for Facebook, infidelity dating site Ashley Madison and recalled romaine lettuce.

► White House adviser Kellyanne Conway is noticeably healthy, and says, "After we lost the campaign, the devil did give me my soul back. ... Now I talk to my husband" – lawyer George Conway, who has spoken out against Trump.

► Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen (Ben Stiller) is happy to see Trump, saying "You’re my best friend. You taught me everything I know."

► First lady Melania Trump has divorced Trump, lost her accent and is "happily married to Papa John." Trump has a new wife now called Hernia, a "suitcase girl" from a game show.

► Vice President Mike Pence is DJing the party and not at all upset that Trump lost the election.

► Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh (host Matt Damon) is relieved he didn't get appointed – more time to hang out with friends P.J. and Squee.

► Even Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller (Robert De Niro) is happy: Less time investigating "some idiot for treason" means more time with his grandson.

But even when presented with a world where his peers seem better off with Clinton in office, Trump doesn't come away wishing he hadn't won the election.

"I've had an epiphany," says Trump. "The world does need me to be president after all."
