'NCIS' renewed for 11th season

No surprise here: NCIS has been picked up for another season on CBS.

The network made it official today and also announced that star Mark Harmon has extended his contract with the series, which is currently in its 10th season.

“In a world gone niche, NCIS keeps getting bigger, and Mark Harmon continues to define the role of leading man on the #1 show on television,” CBS president Leslie Moonves said in a statement. “NCIS is the type of franchise every company wants in today’s global content ecosystem – high-quality storytelling that generates passionate viewers and drives revenue on every conceivable platform.”

Even after a decade on the air, NCIS continues to be a ratings juggernaut. This season is averaging 21.48 million viewers, up more than seven percent from last year and is the highest-rated drama among adults and averages 4.2 rating in the 18-49 demo, according to the network.

Recently, the series also scored its second biggest audiences ever, averaging 22.86 million viewers — and number that increased to 25.36 million after DVR L+3 day adjustment.
