'Huge Country Music Fan' Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph Make Red Carpet Debut at 2019 ACMs

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph made a swoon-worthy red carpet debut at the 2019 ACMs.

As they walked the carpet together and posed for photos, the former Bachelor pulled out a disposable camera and joined the photographers to snap photos of his girlfriend in her shimmering black and silver gown.

Earlier in the night, Underwood shared a since-deleted tweet talking about how good Randolph looked in her dress, but Randolph told PEOPLE on the red carpet that she wasn’t exactly thrilled about the missive.

“I was so mad at him for tweeting that,” she said with a laugh. “I was like pressure, now, pressure.”

Underwood responded, telling PEOPLE that he “learned from the mistake.”

“I guess I’m not going to hype her dress up for the next red carpet,” he said, “but I mean, look at it, she’s beautiful.”

Later in the evening, Underwood shared a photo of himself snapping pictures of Randolph, writing “I’ll be your professional hype man for the rest of our lives. You’re beautiful.”

The Academy of Country Music Awards seemed to be a fitting place for the couple to make their red carpet debut, as Underwood admitted to PEOPLE he loves country music and even loaded up his iPod with songs while filming The Bachelor.

“I’m a huge country music fan,” Underwood said. “So you get your phone taken during the season. All you have is a little iPod. So I loaded it up and all I did was listen to music for three months of filming so it was great.”

Randolph shocked Bachelor Nation during Underwood’s season when she was unable to commit to an engagement, and left him before their fantasy suite date. But Underwood fought to get her back after breaking up with all of the other women on his season because he knew Randolph was the one for him.

“I thought I made the right decision in leaving,” Randolph told PEOPLE in a cover story in March. “But Colton fought for me. And he has shown me what a healthy relationship looks like.”

“Colton never put pressure on me,” she continued. “I think that’s why we’re still here today, because we took it at our own pace. We didn’t want to rush something that was going to be forever.”

“She doesn’t have a ring on her finger yet,” Underwood told PEOPLE of their engagement plans. “But she will, one day.”

The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards are broadcasting live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on CBS.
