'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' is heading to Comic-Con

Chris Pratt has wrapped filming his scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and his next stop is Comic-Con.

To celebrate Pratt’s final day on the set of Guardians, director James Gunn hosted a Facebook Live session on Thursday, and revealed the news.

“We, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, are coming to San Diego Comic-Con this year,” Gunn said. “I’m gonna be there, Chris Pratt is gonna be there, and a bunch of the gang is gonna be there. We’re gonna show you something pretty cool.”

In addition to the Comic-Con reveal, Pratt and Gunn took time out to thank the crew for their hard work on the project, a sequel to 2014’s global blockbuster. “This is going to be the greatest spectacle film of all time,” Pratt, who also starred in last summer’s box office juggernaut Jurassic World, said. “Each of us has our name on it and each of us has a piece of it, and for our entire lives people are going to be impressed that we did this movie. […] The reason you’re here is because you’re the best in the business at what you do.”

Added Gunn, “I’ll just say to the crew here, you guys are the greatest. I know I’m not always the easiest, I really do. I know I’m not always that appreciative, I’m kind of like a robot around here, but I really do appreciate everything everybody has put into this movie.”

Fans can get the inside look at the upcoming sequel during San Diego Comic-Con, which begins with a preview night on July 20 and ends July 24.
