'The Great One' Wayne Gretzky Has Hockey Stick Battle with His 2-Year-Old Grandson — Watch

Wayne Gretzky is wasting no time teaching his grandsons how to use a hockey stick!

On Tuesday, the hockey legend’s daughter, model Paulina Gretzky, posted a video to her Instagram story showing the 58-year-old going one-on-one with his grandson, River, who turns 2 in June. The adorable video features the two battling over a tennis ball with their sticks, and Wayne even shows off a bit by slapping the ball through River’s legs.

At one point, even the family dog gets in on the fun and grabs the ball with its teeth before dropping it at Wayne’s feet.

“Papa Wayne & Rivs,” Paulina, 30, wrote in the post.

But this isn’t the first time the “Great One” has gone toe-to-toe with the youngest members of his family.

As UPI noted, Wayne also had a hockey stick battle with his other grandson, Tatum — now 4 — back in 2016.

“Papa Wayne determined hockey is in him making sure he is a lover, not a fighter,” Paulina wrote in her Instagram video showing the two going at it.

The Gretzky family has been busy this month, as Paulina’s husband, golfer Dustin Johnson, played in the 2019 Masters Tournament, which came down to the wire on Sunday, the last day of the contest.
