There's a New Beauty and the Beast -Themed Bar Opening at Disney World's Grand Floridian Resort

Say bonjour to the newest place to catch a buzz at Walt Disney World.

The Disney Parks Blog recently announced a yet-to-be-named bar and lounge located in the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, a luxury hotel located one monorail stop away from the Magic Kingdom. The new establishment will be inspired by Beauty and the Beast, designed to “celebrate the magic and romance” of the movie, according to the announcement.

It will go in the space formerly occupied by Mizner’s Lounge, a quiet-but-charming bar located in the hotel, and the adjacent Commander Porter’s, a men’s clothing store that originally opened in 1988. Both have already closed as the renovation for the new bar is underway.

The bar will be separated into four distinct areas: a main bar, which “takes its inspiration from Belle’s flowing ball gown” and is illuminated by a dramatic chandelier that serves as the centerpiece; a formal library with “classical baroque designs and French furnishings inspired by Belle”; a garden room that “draws its inspiration from the enchanted forest surrounding Beast’s castle”; and an outdoor patio inspired by Beast’s garden terrace.

Beauty and the Beast fans have been long been flocking to Be Our Guest, a full-service, sit-down restaurant located in the Magic Kingdom with an ornate dining room inspired by the movie. But while that requires a park ticket and is an expensive, tough-to-snag reservation, the new bar looks to provide a more relaxed vibe without having to enter the parks.

Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the establishment, and, according to WDW News Today blog, has opened a temporary bar in the Grand Floridian lobby in the meantime.
