Season 25 of "Dancing With the Stars" hasn't even begun, but the ABC hit has still managed to drum up a little controversy, anyway.

"DWTS" announced its returning pros and dance troupe lineup for its upcoming season and, though a lot of the crowd's favorites are set to come back in their rightful position as pros, two former pros have seemingly been demoted -- and fans aren't happy about it.

People reported on Monday that Jenna Johnson and Sasha Farber will both be dancing in the show's background dance troupe for season 25, despite the fact that they both competed as pros in recent seasons. Farber was paired with Simone Biles last season, while Johnson officially took a season off (though she filled in for Sharna Burgess during her injury).

Fans, friends and other members of the "Dancing With the Stars" family were quick to take to social media when the news broke that he hadn't been named a pro.

His partner from last season, Biles, also took to Twitter to voice her support of Farber, who had already been demoted back to the troupe after competing as a pro during season 17.

"Hey @SashaFarber," she wrote. "I heard about the sad news LOVE YOU! team Sasha forever Keep your chin up!! miss ya!!"

Farber noticed the endless message of support and expressed that he was "very lucky to have such amazing support from [his] fans!"

"Dancing With the Stars" returns for season 25 on Sept. 18 on ABC.
