Aoki Lee Simmons took to social media this weekend following news of the 21-year-old dating 65-year-old restauranteur Vittorio Assaf, going live on Instagram with her beau while in St. Barts together.
Instead of running from the headlines, Simmons confirmed their reported romance, calling Assaf her “boyfriend” and reminding him of her love of Cartier and Bvlgari as they drove by the fine jewelry retailers. She also attempted to hush her beau several times throughout the clip, including after he randomly named dropped the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.
“You know, Mary J. Blige wanted to be my partner,” he tells Simmons of the 53-year-old songstress, with Simmons responding with a reminder that they’re streaming live to her followers. “Baby, you’re on. Shush!” Check out the clip below.
Upon PageSix publishing first photos of the pair making out on the beach, fans of the model took to her various social media pages to share their concerns over the couple’s 44-year age gap.
“A 65 yr old man? Blink once for help. Twice and we’ll send the cops,” wrote one follower, with another adding, “Girl what you over there doing with that old a** man, you alright?!”
“Girl that man is an old creep. You’re too smart and beautiful to fall for such a classic pattern,” added another fan who disapproved.
After seeing them interact within the newly-released clip, however, some are chalking up their courtship to a sugar daddy/ sugar baby arrangement — which is pure speculation at this point.
“I think she’s just playing the baby role. She’s smarter than we all think…,” wrote one observer, with another adding, “And he dismissed her liking those stores… he just want the sugar on this trip.”
As for MJB, the singer recently confirmed she is no longer single following a tumultuous divorce from Kendu Issacs, which was finalized in 2018.
