‘Anyone But You’ trailer: Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell star in buzzy romantic comedy [Watch]

Its stars can’t promote it yet, but Sony has started the marketing campaign for “Anyone But You,” the R-rated romantic comedy starring buzzy online favorites Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell.

Here’s how the studio describes the film, which arrives in theaters on December 22.

In the edgy comedy Anyone But You, Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold – until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.

“Easy A” and “Friends with Benefits” director Will Gluck is behind the camera for this one, and he co-wrote the script with Ilana Wolpert (who also has a solo story credit).

“Anyone But You” was a big topic of conversation earlier this year due to the chummy offscreen relationship between its two stars. The actors leaned into that during their appearance at CinemaCon. If the actors’ strike comes to an end before the film’s release, the press tour should be a fun one.
