"I've got a grace period until August, and then I will be working back-to-back until mid-2023," she said in the Variety chat.

Taylor-Joy went on to express her excitement about working on Furiosa and collaborating with director George Miller.

"The thing that makes me most excited about Furiosa is, No. 1, George Miller," she said. "That brain is incredible. I'm also really excited to do something physical. To physically become something else is something that will weirdly give me a lot of peace."

The actress is set to be joined by Watchmen's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Marvel star Chris Hemsworth in the prequel, the latter recently admitting doing the prequel was a dream come true for him.

"It is a huge honour," he said. "A lot of pressure, but exciting pressure that is certainly motivating.

"It really is, out of everything I've done, the biggest pinch-myself moment, because I've grown up watching it and it's so iconic."

Miller further teased: "I didn't set out to make a big, epic movie. It's a story I wanted to tell, but as it turns out, it's just got a lot of different scenes.

"The one thing I can say about it, Fury Road... within the film, happened over three days and two nights. This is a saga, happens over many years. So, there's a lot of different elements to it."

Furiosa is due out on June 23, 2023.
