Anya Taylor-Joy is reminiscing about her Italian wedding.

In a new interview with Elle, the 28-year-old actress opened up about the experience of saying "I do" to musician Malcolm McRae — for a second time! — in Venice, Italy, where they were surrounded by loved ones.

"I’m lucky to say that the second experience — with all of our families — was so beyond beautiful, and I just feel very, very lucky," she told the magazine about the September 2023 ceremony, which was attended by a number of stars including Miles TellerJulia GarnerNicholas Hoult and Evan Ross.

More than a year prior, in April 2022, the couple secretly eloped in New Orleans. Taylor-Joy revealed the news in an Instagram post last month to mark her and McRae's second wedding anniversary.

"Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans. The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever," she wrote at the time, before giving a shout-out to McRae, 30. "Happy second (first) anniversary my love…you’re the coolest."

The Queen's Gambit star told Elle that the pair decided to make their love official in such a quiet way because "we're just real romantics."

"We were born on the same day. And we wanted to make sure that our first experience was something that was completely for us. So we eloped in New Orleans with our two best friends [Cara Delevingne and Sebastián Faena] and had the time of our lives," she explained, calling the moment "magical."

Taylor-Joy also shared how lucky she feels to have found McRae, who is one half of the rock duo More alongside Kane Ritchotte. "I feel so unbelievably lucky to be completely and utterly in love. I have found my person," she told Elle of her husband.

"I cannot believe that we get to do life together," she continued. "And in talking about experiences where you get to grow, what an unbelievable thing to live your life with a mirror — and a mirror that causes you to become a better version of yourself.”

Taylor-Joy also spoke to Variety earlier this month about eloping, touching on the spontaneity of the moment. "We were together not very long … When you know, you know," she said, adding of the intimate ceremony, “It was for us. It was romantic."

The actress previously told Entertainment Tonight that the secret ceremony required her and McRae to be "pretty spy-orientated" as they did their "research" leading up to the nuptials and then kept their marriage under wraps for two years. “It kind of made it all the more special, ‘cause it just felt like a secret that we got to keep to ourselves," she noted.
