Anya Taylor-Joy Plays Warrior in Back-to-Back Leather Looks

Anya Taylor-Joy may have missed the 2024 Met Gala, but she’s still serving up plenty of museum-worthy looks on the press tour for her new Mad Max prequel film, Furiosa.

So far, the actor has embodied the essence of her futuristic warrior character in a vintage chain-link set complete with an arrow-covered headpiece, a metal Balmain minidress that required her to be clasped in, and a sculpted leather minidress from Acne Studios—which she wore while being pulled in a motorcycle-drawn chariot (no, seriously). Taylor-Joy continued to stylishly promote her new movie on Thursday, when she and costar Chris Hemsworth visited SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle Show in Los Angeles. Hemsworth went casual in black boots, black jeans, and a black tee, layering the last under an open gray button-up shirt and oversize striped blazer. He accessorized with multiple silver necklaces and a large silver wristwatch, while Taylor-Joy dressed her part.

In tune with her edgy press tour looks, the actor opted for a leather top with a large, zippered keyhole opening. She styled the sleeveless top with a pair of crisp black trousers, which she wore under a matching miniskirt with two front pockets. She completed the look with black pointed-toe heels. The monochromatic ensemble, as well as simple glam, allowed Taylor-Joy to highlight her long platinum hair, worn straightened with a middle part.

On Friday—less than 24 hours after her last press tour look—the actor delivered another head-turning outfit, this time for a Furiosa press conference in Mexico. Taking her look up a notch (or 10), she wore a matching white leather ensemble from Robert Wun. The warrior-worthy outfit included a black bandeau top layered underneath a cropped leather jacket, as well as a leather pencil skirt. Both the jacket and skirt featured exposed metal hardware and dangling leather straps, while the outerwear boasted emphasized shoulders and a shruglike fit.

Taylor-Joy polished off her look with strappy white heels, silver rings, and rectangular silver hoops. Beauty-wise, she wore her long blonde hair down, and finished her look off with a bright red lip and talonlike nude manicure. If looks could kill, this one definitely would have.
