Antonio Brown Dropped By His Lawyer Over Money Owed & Refusing To Communicate
Ex-NFL star Antonio Brown has been dropped by his lawyer for allegedly refusing to pay up on legal bills.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Florida powerhouse attorney, Darren Heitner, has requested to withdraw as representation for Brown in a pending lawsuit. The case at hand was brought by the NFL star’s former landlord.
The suit accuses Brown of trashing the luxury rental property. He counter-sued his former landlord seeking the return of his $35,000 deposit.
In newly filed documents, Heitner accuses Brown of having “failed substantially to fulfill an obligation to the lawyer regarding the lawyer’s services and has been given reasonable warning that the lawyer will withdraw unless the obligation is fulfilled.” He says Brown owes him money for services provided in the legal battle.
The lawyer says Brown promised to make a payment but fell into arrears. He claims Brown missed a December 13 deadline.
Brown allegedly blocked his lawyer from calling him on the phone or texting. The lawyer says it’s basically impossible to communicate with his client. He is asking the court to allow him to drop Brown completely. A judge has yet to rule.

Last year, Vladimir Kirsanov and Aqualina 1402 LLC sued Antonio Brown over a $7 million oceanfront Miami condo.
The landlord accuses Brown of leaving the home in severe damage. He said the NFL star breached the lease by “destroying, damaging, defacing the premises, as well as furnishings, appliances and other personal belongings” of the owner.
The owner says he had to spend a substantial amount on repairs. He accuses Brown of refusing to pay up. He is seeking unspecified damages.
Brown countersued Aqualina 1402, along with the personal owner Vladimir Kirsanov. He denies all allegations of ruining his home. He says any damages caused “are solely and completely attributable to Plaintiff’s own conduct.” He claims to have attempted to buy the landlord replacement furniture. Brown says the landlord refused to let him back into the property.
Brown said he paid all the money owed on the lease, plus extra. He claims to have paid $140,250 to move in (three months’ rent, security deposit and a cleaning fee).The NFL star moved out of the unit after “being the victim of a theft.” Brown sued his landlord demanding the return of his $35,000 deposit.
The legal battle turned nasty when the landlord accused Brown of being “belligerent” and “extremely noncompliant and flagrantly disorderly” during a deposition.
Brown is also facing a separate lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting a personal trainer. He recently counter-sued the woman.
