‘Antiques Roadshow’ collector almost faints after learning value of Frank Sinatra letter

Collector Vie Carlson got some surprising news on Antiques Roadshow, Monday, when she brought an angry letter written by Frank Sinatra to Chicago journalist Mike Royko, who had written an unflattering op-ed about him.

The appraiser read an excerpt for the letter, which reads, “I will allow you to pull my ‘hairpiece’; If it moves, I will give you another $100,000; If it does not, I punch you in the mouth. How about it?”

Viewers thought Carlson’s reaction to finding out the letter was worth $15,000 was hilarious with one person tweeting, “God bless the old lady with a letter from Frank Sinatra on Antiques Roadshow. funniest segment I’ve ever seen.”

“I'm going to faint,” Carlson said. “If I ever sell it, the money goes to the Salvation Army anyway. So the more, the merrier.”
