Eddie Vedder better watch out, because the Chicago Cubs may have found a replacement to sing their next World Series song. Four-year-old Cubs fan Eden Stembel belted out a ballad to Anthony Rizzo on Monday. Less than 24 hours later, Rizzo sent out a ringing endorsement of the original song.

Here’s the video of the song Stembel dedicated to Rizzo, courtesy of her mother’s Twitter account.

After singing, “I love Anthony Rizzo, ooooooh,” Eden turns to her mother Betty and says she’s going to sing a song for Rizzo and asks if she can send the video to the first baseman. Her mother responds with “I can try,” and then Eden launches into her song.

We’ve transcribed the ballad so you don’t have to look up the lyrics later:

“Anthony Rizzo is the best boy ever. Best Cub ever.”

Eden’s wish was granted, as the video did eventually catch Rizzo’s eye. On Tuesday, he sent out the following response:

After that, it’s probably fair to agree with Eden’s assessment that “Anthony Rizzo is the best boy ever.” For her efforts, it looks like she’s getting a signed ball from her favorite player.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Eden was at daycare when Rizzo responded, so she hadn’t seen the news yet. We’ll be eagerly awaiting her reaction when it happens.

No offense to Vedder, but Eden definitely has him beat on the adorable scale. If he doesn’t want to be replaced, he might want to try for a duet the next time Eden gets in the recording studio.
