Anderson Cooper has often discussed his strange relationship with food. He’s said he gets little to no pleasure from eating, and wouldn't do it at all if he didn't have to. Naturally, this bugged the hell out of his late pal, Anthony Bourdain. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cooper described the ribbing he’d get from Bourdain.

"We had lunches together and he would just look at me like I was a creature from another planet," said Cooper. "Everything I thought about food was completely antithetical to his beliefs."

Bourdain definitely had a point-Cooper is so indifferent to food that he told THR that he’d like to go for an all-Soylent diet.

"I don't care about food," he says, nodding toward the mini-fridge stocked with the energy drink that purports to provide all known human nutritional needs. "So I'm trying to replace all food with this because it would be, like, three fewer decisions in a day."

As colleagues at CNN, Bourdain and Cooper sometimes took their different approaches to eating to the airwaves. In one segment for Vanity Fair, Bourdain tried to get Cooper to eat tripe-cow stomach lining. Spoiler: Cooper wasn’t a fan.
