Another Fyre Festival is the last thing Ja Rule's kids want

On the series premiere of Growing Up Hip Hop: New York, Ja Rule told his kids he’s planning to promote another music festival. Considering how the 2017 Fyre Festival turned out, they were a little apprehensive. Fyre Festival was widely considered one of the worst music festivals of all time. It was billed as a luxury music event and promoted by influencers like Kylie Jenner and Ja Rule, but lack of amenities and cancellations by performers led to a social media disaster. Ultimately the promoter, Billy McFarland, was sent to prison for fraud. Ja’s kids, Brittney and Josh, were not very excited about the news of a sequel festival. “I'm nervous about my dad recreating another festival,” said Brittney, “I feel like it'd get very messy, very quickly, and it can go really bad.” Bolstered by two popular documentaries that recently came out, Fyre Festival is still heavily discussed. Ja’s kids claim they sometimes are harassed as a result. A concerned Brittney said, “I never wanted to come out and have like the Fyre Festival or any of this stuff kind of like overshadow or like want people to be afraid to then work with us.” Despite his kid’s concerns, Ja decided to go ahead with new festival, which he named “Iconic.” His kids may not like it but if they’re gonna live in Ja’s house, they gotta live by Ja’s rules.
