Jameis Winston instigates fight as Bucs' Mike Evans blindsides Saints' Marshon Lattimore

Not sure what’s happening in the NFL this Sunday, but players are feeling feisty.

Just minutes after A.J. Green’s takedown of Jalen Ramsey in the Cincinnati Bengals-Jacksonville Jaguars game, there was a brief fight in the NFL South matchup between Tampa Bay and New Orleans.

Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston, who was knocked out of the game due to an injury in his throwing shoulder, came off the bench to point and appeared to talk some trash to New Orleans rookie cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

As Lattimore was walking away, Winston foolishly poked him in the back of the helmet. Lattimore turned and pushed Winston with one hand.

Then out of nowhere, Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans came flying in and jumped into Lattimore’s back, shoving him hard and knocking him face-first into the Superdome turf.

That, of course, led to some punches being thrown during a brief skirmish.

Inexplicably, Evans was not tossed from the game. And Winston was in the wrong as well, leaving the bench to go onto the field and antagonize Lattimore. The Bucs were down 30-3 at the time and ended up losing 30-10.

Even Evans couldn’t believe he didn’t get booted after his knuckleheaded move:

After the game, Evans was contrite about his actions, calling them “childish.” “I let my emotions get the best of me,” he said.
