There’s Another Book Called ‘Fire and Fury’ and Its Author Is Way Psyched

Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” is the hottest book in the country right now, and that popularity is having some unintended consequences.

In 2008, historian Randall Hansen published a book about World War II called “Fire and Fury: The Allied Bombing of Germany, 1942-1945.” Nearly 10 years later the book is accidentally a bestseller again.

“I don’t know how much of this is a mistake and how much of this is from new interest created by free advertising,” Professor Hansen said in an interview with the New York Times. “There might be some returns.”

The majority of the book’s recent reviews on Amazon come from readers either confusing it for Wolff’s take on the Trump administration or joking about the similarity between the two titles.

“Bought this book after seeing an ad for it on The Gorilla Channel. Only into the first chapter, but it is well written and seems well researched,” one reviewer wrote, referencing a recently popular meme and criticisms about Wolff’s book’s factual accuracy.

“HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BLUMPF !!! SCAM !!!” read another review.

“Incredibly, sales of my [book] have increased. Will I owe a larger royalty cheque to Bannon & Trump?” Hansen tweeted last week. “If so, the irony will know no limits.”
