The 59th annual Dixie Rodeo returns Friday, Feb. 9, to the Mississippi Coliseum and this year's event includes live music, livestock shows, bronc riding and bull riding to name a few.

The Dixie National Rodeo, produced by Harper & Morgan Rodeo and sponsored by Southern AgCredit,, is billed as the largest professional cowboys and cowgirls rodeo east of the Mississippi River.

“We are excited to announce this year’s entertainment lineup for the annual Dixie National Rodeo,” said Andy Gipson Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce. “As we’ve seen shows sell out quickly in years past, I encourage the public to purchase their tickets in advance.”

This year will feature live concerts following each rodeo performance and headliners include Conner Smith and Colin Stough, Tracy Bird, Chris Cagle, Megan Moroney, Sammy Kershaw, Corey Kent and Parmalee.

Jameson Rodgers was previously scheduled to perform Feb. 9, and fans who purchased tickets prior to the artist-change announcement can request a refund at the point of purchase up until the scheduled event performance time, organizers said.

Not only will there be live concerts, but also at this years rodeo the public has so much to look forward to.

The Dixie National Parade through downtown Jackson kicks off with a mile-long route starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, and ending around noon. Parade participants will include rodeo competitors and features the famous Dixie national wagon train with antique cars, rodeo queens, decorative floats, mounted horses and marching bands led by the Mississippi Fire Academy Elite Honor Guard and Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson, according to dixienational.org.

The rodeo will include a Rodeo Days Expo, the Mississippi Ag and Outdoor Expo, which is the largest display of everything for the outdoors in Mississippi, the Dixie National steakhouse, Miss Dixie National Rodeo Pageant, retro night costume contest and more.

The winner of the costume contest will receive a $100 gift card to Cavender's Western Outfitters.
