A Shelby farm will be transformed next week into a gallery of some of the nicest imported cars in the Carolinas.

The Broad River European Motor Club will host its annual European Classic Car Show Saturday, April 30, at Dog Head Farm in Shelby. The show will feature more than 60 Italian, German, British made cars and motorcycles.

The show is a continuation of an annual event previously held in Uptown Shelby, which saw classic cars lined up around the court square.

"During COVID we weren't able to have the show in downtown, so we moved it out of that area and it has become a fun event at the farm," said Jack Weller, with the Broad River European Motor Club. "Last year we had cars from South Carolina, Raleigh and Asheville. There aren't that many opportunities to show off cars anymore, especially after COVID."

Entry fees for the show are being given to three charities this year — Clothing Closet of the Junior Charity League, a beach trip for North Shelby students sponsored by Teddy Bear and Friends, and the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland County. Over the last two years, car shows have raised more than $3,000 for charity, said Weller.

Anyone interested in entering a car can register by calling 704-472-8759. Registration is $25. The show will begin at 9 a.m. April 30. Dog Head Farm is located on Twin Chimney Road in Shelby.
