The audience of Gutenberg on Broadway was treated to a Devil Wears Prada moment on Wednesday night courtesy of Anne Hathaway and Anna Wintour!

The duo made cameos in Gutenberg as the "Producers" that gave aspiring musical theater composers Bud (Josh Gad) and Doug (Andrew Rannells) their Broadway contract at the show's end.

Hathaway and Wintour hugged onstage at the James Earl Jones Theater in New York City in a video shared to Instagram before Hathaway began the end scene.

"Oh Bud, Doug, this show is fantastic," she said to the pair of best friends (played by Gad and Rannells) who dream of bringing their show to Broadway in this very meta musical. "We don't need to hear another note!"

And then Wintour cut in: "I'm a very famous Broadway producer, and this is my assistant," she said, gesturing to Hathaway.

"Still?" Hathaway asked disparagingly before the editor-in-chief of American Vogue continued.

"I hold in my hands a Broadway contract," Wintour said, and the audience erupted in applause and hugs were shared all around.

Wintour and Hathaway both wore all-black outfits to compliment the yellow "Producers" trucker hat that's such an essential part of Gutenberg it's basically a character on its own.

The actress and media executive's reunion was a nod to the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada (based on a book of the same name). Hathaway played Andrea "Andie" Sachs, the second assistant to Meryl Streep's character Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief at a high fashion magazine who has a reputation for being a tyrant.

Streep's character is reportedly based on Wintour.

There was nothing but love between Wintour and Hathaway as they each donned the yellow trucker hat, told Bud and Doug their fate and gave the audience a thrill.

The hat has previously been worn by Frozen star and Tony Winner Idina Menzel, John Stamos,  Lin-Manuel MirandaKristen Bell, Tiffany Haddish, Sara Bareilles, Billy CrystalSteve Martin and Martin Short (among many other famous faces).
