Anna Faris on Chris Pratt Cheating Rumors: ‘It Made Me Feel Incredibly Insecure’
Anna Faris doesn’t want to be bothered by “tabloid rumors” about her marriage to Chris Pratt — but laughing them off is harder than she thought.
The actress sat down with Nocturnal Animals star Isla Fisher on a recent episode of her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, and the two got to talking about the challenges of being in a public relationship.
Fisher, who’s married to Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen, told Faris that she prefers not to talk about her husband or children in interviews. “Chris and I, we talk about this a lot,” Faris responded. “We grapple with a lot of the ideas of being a public couple.”
Their first major challenge as a couple came about a year ago, when, Faris explained, “We were in the public a little bit, there were some tabloid rumors about strain in our relationship.”
As much as she tried to brush off the criticism, Faris admitted the rumors stung. “I just remember feeling so hurt in a way that bothered me, because I didn’t want to think of myself as somebody who could be bothered by … tabloid s***.”
Asked by Fisher what hurt the most, Faris answered, “I think it was a combination of things. I take pride in how great my relationship is with Chris, but having said that, of course, in this crazy world where he’s off doing movies and I’m in L.A. raising our child, of course I’m going to feel vulnerable, like any normal human would.”
Even though she knew the rumors were false, Faris said, “It made me feel incredibly very insecure.”
“It’s much more interesting to see a story about a tumultuous relationship than a happy one,” said Fisher, who offered a suggestion: If relationship rumors persist, Faris and Pratt should consider “ a sex tape.”
