Anna Camp Talks About 2019 And Her Divorce From Skylar Astin
Fans of Pitch Perfect couldn't have been happier when they heard that two of their favorite characters from the movie had gotten together in real life.
Anna Camp and Skylar Astin were introduced by a mutual friend and got to know each other while filming the movie, clearly becoming close.
Anna was going through a divorce from Michael Mosley at the time, so she and Astin didn't get together until after the movie wrapped.
Unfortunately, this adorable couple called it quits this year.

Anna Camp and Skylar Astin Became Close While Filming 'Pitch Perfect'
Reflecting on the relationship, Anna told E! News in 2017, “I did meet my husband on this, on the first one. And I didn’t go in thinking that that was something that was gonna happen."
Anna also opened up to Glamour back in 2014, explaining who made the first move. She said, “We were friends first and just hit it off. He’s just so great, and he’s a Libra too. We didn’t really have a scene together, but he’s just such a fun guy."
She continued, "He’s great. He was dating somebody, and I had been through a (divorce) and he was like, ‘Do you want to go on a date?’ I remember thinking, Well, he’s younger than me. He’s five years younger. He’s 26, and I’m 31. But I was like, ‘You know what? OK! Let’s do it, let’s see.’ He’s literally my best friend.”
They Split In 2019
Despite how cute the couple was, they, unfortunately announced their split at the beginning of 2019.
Anna's rep released a statement to USA Today, saying, “We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition.”
The former couple had only been married since 2016, but it appears they couldn't survive.
Now, Anna has spoken out on Instagram about the up and down year she had after her divorce from Skylar.
Anna Reflected On A Roller Coaster Year
She wrote, “I just want to take some time to thank all of the incredible people who I met let alone this year, but the last decade of my life. From the new friends to the oldest of friends, to my family, and my pup."
The post continued, "2019 was a hell of a year and this photo was taken during a pivotal and vulnerable time of that year … Scared, lost, but feeling full of courage and hope.”
So, despite the hardships she faced in her marriage this year, it appears the Pitch Perfect star has learned a lot.
She Feels Empowered
Just a few months after the split, she spoke at the TV Critics’ Association summer press tour, in a similarly reflective manner.
She said, “I think only recently, am I now actually finding me as Anna, which has been really exciting in my life … I feel more me than I ever, ever have. So, it’s a vulnerable place to be, but it’s also very empowering.”
It seems as if Anna is finding her way in the world as a single woman, and is learning a lot from it.
