Anitta Meets Adidas: Popstar Lands Campaign as Face (and Feet) of New NMD Sneaker

Anitta shows off some fancy footwork in her new music video for “Lobby,” but the popstar is trading her red heels in the video for a pair of white kicks as the new face of adidas’ NMD V3 release.

Anitta stars in the campaign for the NMD V3 sneakers, which hit stores and adidas.com online this week. The NMD silhouette launched in 2015 and it’s become one of the best-selling and most familiar adidas shoe styles to date, thanks to the instantly-recognizable knit upper, signature BOOST cushioning and lightweight rubber sole. Designed for both looks and performance, the NMD sneakers are incredibly supportive, with a snug yet comfortable fit around the feet while remaining ultra flexible for movement.

The new NMD V3 release updates the now-iconic silhouette with eco-friendly materials too. Adidas says the sneaker’s knit upper is now made from a yarn derived from 50% recycled polyester and 50% Parley Ocean Plastic (waste from beaches and shorelines that have been re-engineered into a tactile material for shoes and apparel). Synthetic suede (rather than animal suede) serves as an accent throughout the sneaker design.

Feature-wise, the new NMD V3 sneakers offer a re-engineered mesh that wraps around the foot, a transparent heel clip, and BOOST cushioning that’s now partially encapsulated in a lightweight TPU “plastic” shell along the sole.

The tagline for the new NMD campaign: “create new paths.”

“Made for those who respect what’s come before, while also staying up to date with what’s coming next, the latest silhouette in the NMD family stands proud as a future icon created for the rebellious explorers forging the cities of tomorrow,” adidas says, in a press release.
