Anishinaabe Arts Initiative fellowship available through Region 2 Arts Council

Feb. 2—BEMIDJI — The Region 2 Arts Council is accepting applications for an Anishinaabe Arts Initiative fellowship, with the application deadline set for Friday, March 1.

"The goal of the AAI Fellowship Program is to assist the region's most talented Indigenous artists in furthering and innovating their work," a release said.

The funds can be used for exploring new directions or techniques; creating new bodies of work or continuing work in progress; production or promotion costs, materials, supplies, marketing, or equipment; collaborative or community projects; travel, research or study to further art and more.

Fellowships are open to artists who are enrolled tribal members and descendants residing in Becker, Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard, Itasca, Lake of the Woods, Mahnomen or Roseau Counties.

The maximum award for the fellowship is $5,000, and only one award will be granted. To apply online, visit
