Anine Bing has a love for music.

The L.A.-based Danish designer — who rose on the scene as a content creator before launching her namesake brand in 2012 — has become well established in fashion. But some may not be aware of Bing’s other passion in life: rock ‘n’ roll.

After a 14-year break from music, Bing hosted an album release party for her new record, “Therapy,” while unveiling the brand’s summer collection. Held at Chateau Marmont on Thursday night, guests included Georgia May Jagger, Alison Brie, Awkwafina, Laura Harrier, Ava Phillippe, Akira Akbar, Ashley Madekwe, Elsa Hosk, Abigail Spencer, Mandana Dayani, Dr. Barbara Sturm, TyLynn Nguyen, Rebecca Gayheart and Rachel Zoe.

As Bing explains it, she realized the importance of songwriting in her life after a therapy session; it inspired her to pick up the pen again, creating a 12-track album that can be heard in the brand’s summer campaign videos featuring its global face, Kate Moss.

Bing took the stage to perform by the hotel pool, followed by Swedish singer-songwriters Winona Oak and Lisa Ekdahl. The crowd enjoyed Champagne and dirty martinis while snacking on sliders, fries and pigs in a blanket. They left with a gifted Anine Bing T-shirt and signed album in vinyl.

Anine Bing as a company has been growing its footprint, expanding the business throughout the U.S., Europe and in Australia with more than 25 of its own stores. It’s sold in more than 450 locations globally, both in physical retail and online, including at Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Net-a-porter, Harrods, Galeries Lafayette and Le Bon Marché. Bing’s focus has been on everyday wardrobe essentials, fusing her Scandinavian roots with her L.A. influence.
