The Angry Birds Movie 2 trailer is all about ice, ice, baby

If there’s one thing Angry Birds are missing with their ongoing war with the pigs, it’s chill. The first Angry Birds Movie 2 trailer has lots of that.

It’s a Saturday Night Live family get-together as Leslie Jones joins the voice cast as a purple-feathered new villain in the sequel — one who dreams of a tropical paradise but is stuck living in an icy tundra. That’s why she decides to fire ice balls at both the pigs and birds.

If you’re not tired of more “winter is coming” tag lines that play off of Game of Thrones, this movie has another one for you. It also has one of those “we’re gonna need a bigger [insert noun]” Jaws line.

Jason Sudeikis and Bill Hader, two other SNL vets, return to voice Red and Leonard, but Jones’ SNL cast mate Beck Bennet also joins in another new voice role.

Returning voice actors include Josh Gad as Chuck, Danny McBride as Bomb, and Peter Dinklage as Mighty Eagle, while the rest of the newcomers are Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s Rachel Bloom, Crazy Rich Asians‘ Awkwafina, This Is Us‘ Sterling K. Brown, Overboard‘s Eugenio Derbes, Silicon Valley‘s Zach Woods, Get Out‘s Lil Rel Howery, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Dove Cameron, and The Florida Project‘s Brooklynn Prince.

Adventure Time‘s Thurop Van Orman directs The Angry Birds Movie 2, which is co-directed by Rick and Morty‘s John Rice. Peter Ackerman (Ice Age) wrote the screenplay.

The film is set for theaters on Aug. 16.
