We've heard of kid moms, dog moms, and cat moms, and now Angie Harmon is introducing her social media followers to squirrel moms.

The Law & Order actress, 51, garnered attention after posting numerous photos and videos of herself caring for a young squirrel — who appears to have taken up residence in Harmon's house — on Instagram.

Harmon first posted about her new rodent friend on Instagram on Sept. 15, introducing the animal as Thomas.

"Totally NUTS about this little guy!!! (See what I did there?😉🐿️🌰🍼) I haven't slept in two weeks but I've never been happier," she wrote alongside videos of feeding and cleaning the little creature. "Everyone meet Thomas, Thomas meet everyone!"

Harmon also added several hashtags to the post, including #squirrelmomproblems.

On Sept. 20, Harmon posted a photo of Thomas snuggling into her neck with the caption, "Best 'Sorry, I can't workout today' excuse EVER."

Harmon has shared more peeks into her life with Thomas but has yet to provide information on how the squirrel came into her care or what she plans to do with the rodent in the future.

"Squirrel moms are GANGSTER! I need more paws, more hair & more sleep!" the Rizzoli & Isles star captioned a Sept. 26 video showing her kissing, feeding and talking to Thomas.

In her most recent post about Thomas, Harmon shared a video of the squirrel sitting on her shoulder.

"101 fever but a growing boys gotta EAT!!" she captioned the Oct. 10 post.

Numerous celebs have commented on Harmon's posts about life as a squirrel mom.

Singer-songwriter Jewel commented on Harmon's first Thomas video: "Awwww- universal mothering mode activated!"

"Your tribe is real ❤️," chef and author Tabitha Brown wrote in the comments on a video of Thomas climbing on Harmon's shoulders.

Sharon Stone's comment was more cautious.

"He can carry rabies so take him to your vet," the Basic Instinct actress wrote on Harmon's latest post about Thomas.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, small rodents, including squirrels, "are almost never found to be infected with rabies and have not been known to transmit rabies to humans."

While Harmon appears to be enjoying life as a squirrel mom, the Humane Society of the United States does not condone caring for squirrels as pets.

"The Humane Society of the United States strongly opposes keeping wild animals as pets. This applies to both native and non-native species, whether caught in the wild or bred in captivity. It is neither humane nor appropriate to attempt to habituate a wild animal and keep them as a pet. Not only does it present significant concerns for the wild animal's wellbeing, but also numerous human safety issues. For people looking for the many rewards that come from providing care and a home to a companion animal, contact your local shelter and/or rescue group," the organization shared in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

Unlike Harmon, sometimes animal lovers don't realize they're taking in an unorthodox pet. PEOPLE reported in 2018 that a family in China accidentally brought home a bear, believing it to be a Tibetan Mastiff puppy. Once the creature started walking around on its hind legs, the family realized their pet was a baby bear and relocated it to the Yunnan Wildlife Rescue Center.
