Angie Everhart to Undergo Thyroid Cancer Surgery

Angie Everhart has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

The Wedding Pact actress, 43, will undergo surgery on Tuesday, her rep confirmed to Extra on Monday.

“She wants to set the record straight by letting everyone know that it is true that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer; however, the prognosis is very good,” her rep said in a statement. “[She] expects to be back to work and to mommy duties in a few weeks. The most important reason she is revealing this information is to encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately.”

Adds the rep: “[Angie] wants to thank everyone who has heard about it and expressed their support.”

Everhart is the second celebrity to recently speak out about her thyroid condition.

Brooke Burke revealed in November that she, too, suffered from the illness. A month later, she underwent a successful thyroidectomy.
